Specialty Coffee, Kent
Roasting carefully since 2017.
Provisions started with a sample roaster in a kitchen and a clear principle: good coffee should be easier to get hold of, without lowering the bar on quality. What began as weekly batches for friends and local regulars has grown into a roastery, repair workshop, and venue presence — but the principle hasn’t changed

Where it Started
A kitchen roaster and a clear idea
It started with a small sample roaster in a domestic kitchen and a clear frustration: specialty coffee was either hard to find, overpriced, or wrapped in a kind of performance that felt exclusionary. That felt like a problem worth solving.
The first batches were roasted weekly and sold to friends and local regulars. The feedback was consistent — people wanted good coffee and honest information about it, without having to navigate a lecture. That principle became the foundation.
Machine servicing came in naturally. Customers were buying better beans and realising their equipment wasn’t keeping up. Diagnostic calls turned into repairs, repairs turned into maintenance relationships, and a second strand of the business formed without ever being forced.
Today the operation roasts weekly for online retail and wholesale accounts, with in-person presence at Dreamland in Margate. Bean sales remain the core, but machine support and venue presence are real parts of what Provisions does.
What We Stand For
How we think about what we do
Honesty over performance
We’d rather tell you a repair isn’t worth it than take your money and return a machine that will fail again in three months. Same with coffee — tasting notes should tell you something, not impress you.
Quality without the lecture
Specialty coffee has a gatekeeping problem. We don’t. You can know everything about a coffee’s origin and processing, or you can just want something that tastes good — both are fine here.
Freshness as a baseline
Coffee is roasted weekly. We don’t hold large stock of finished product. Dispatch within 48 hours of order isn’t a marketing claim — it’s how the operation is structured.
Origin relationships
The coffees we source are from producers we know or have been introduced to through trusted importers. Traceability matters, but we don’t use it as a marketing tick-box.
Practical machine support
Machine servicing isn’t a side hustle — it’s a real part of the business. We service what we sell and stand behind the equipment we recommend.
Rooted in Kent
This is a Kent business. The roastery is here, the in-person presence is here, and the local customer relationships that started everything are still the ones we care most about.
